Veteran's Day and an Etiquette Question

Three Events
Well, it's Tuesday, and another day is in the works here in our little corner of the world.
We're in the process of getting ready for three events around here.. One is the parents due to show up around here during the weekend sometime. The house is getting nuked and organized. It needs it. The Master bathroom looks better than it has in a LONG time. We've got some suff to go up in the attic and that should happen within the next few days.
Another is Last Chance which will show up at the end of the month (ya'll come, bring Marshals and fighters... lots of both would be so COOL!)
And the third one, is a two year old Cockatiel named Bingo. A co-worker is trying to help a friend find a good home for her bird (her family wants a dog and she says she wouldn't have time for all of them); so I pulled Riley's old cage out, cleand it THOROUGHLY and found it home in the bedroom. I told my co-worker that I wanted at least an overnight to do some research and to think about it; I wanted to be sure that I had enough experience and enough knowledge to take proper care of him, and I think I do. He's been around cats, so that's not a problem. We have a cage for him, and that should be fine as well. I need to sew him a cage cover, which will happen as soon as I find out if she'll agree to let us have him.
She wants a new home for him VERY soon, so who knows.. we may be Cockatiel owners tonight or within the week..
or not.
I'm trying to not get my hopes up.
Well, it's almost 7 and it's shower time.
My nephew left for Afghanistan on Saturday.. if you're the kind to say prayers, please include one for him and his family. They could use it.
