Veteran's Day and an Etiquette Question

2004-04-07 - 7:36 a.m.

Old Places, New faces

Isn't it funny (funny weird, not funny hilarious) that you can worry and fret and just avoid something you're positive that will be more than just a little unpleasant, but when you get there and you go through it you find that it was nothing of the kind. It wasn't fun, but it wasn't horrible either.

That happened to me yesterday. I'd been avoiding a gathering of folks for about four years because of some bad personal history I had with a few of the members. I had heard things had changed, and I'd been trying to covince myself that I should go back, just to see. But on the other hand, I was certain it would be full of ogres ready to eat me alive. When we got there, there were no ogres (which was a bit disappointing to be honest); and instead there were people I'd never met before and wasn't really interested in getting to know (the kind of people that are so dull, they make you wonder if you need to go home and wash socks, but people nonetheless). After being there for about an hour, we decided that there really wasn't anything for us there and left.

I was elated at having faced this particular demon... but at the same time, almost sort of let down... Yep.. I'm weird, conflicted and just plain strange...

So.. that's one fear down... this week has been a week of positive progress... add all of the extra-straight time I've been working this week, and it adds up to one exhausted Rhi.

Thankfully I'm off tomorrow (thanks to the extra-straight time) you'll find me in bed, ASLEEP, sleeping the sleep of the non-threatened and un-stressed!

Time for work!

Later!

Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE!

For Matt, come home safe and sound! We miss you!
