Lowland River Flooding... RUN for your LIVES!

Last year, everyone was complaining about the drought... now it's rain.. rain and more rain. I'm sick and tired of rain. Everything that isn't soaked... it's damp.. that nasty musty smelling damp. the kind and stuffs up your sinuses and just makes you feel not in a good way.

Yesterday, we went to Highland River Melees, which should be more aptly named Lowriver flooding run for your lives.. at least that's what people seemed to do...We got to site, got things set up and then well, it rained, and rained... and then when it was done, it rained some more.

By 4Pm, 75% of the people who were on site had packed up and gone home. Ther were very few people left, it was a veritable ghost town. I guess everyone had had enough.

We waited until the rain cleared and then we packed up the truck and headed for home; while things were semi dry. We got about 30 minutes away from site when we noticed that the clouds were looking dark... "Is that darkness falling, or rain". "Yes", my husband replied as we looked out of the truck window while he stuffed a sub down (he was hungry, I was having heat and whatever issues and wasn't all thathungry). We hurrid up and beat feet towards home... only to hit... you guessed it... RAIN. Hard heavy driving rain for about an hour or so of the trip...

We got home and collapsed. Slept until around 8 this morning and now we're off to the canton meeting :)

If you're not there... well you should be!

Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE!

For Matt, come home safe and sound! We miss you!
