2003-05-04 - 12:11 a.m. Wow.. what a day! Today was a good day. We didn't get the car we were looking at in NC, it had some problems, so we asked for a repair estimate before we drove the car off the lot, so to speak. It took us about 2.5 hours from their house to get to site. We forgot chairs, so I had to stand around a bit. The day was looking rather dull and boring and I wasn't in the greatest of moods. I had a killer headache and the sun was doing it's usual number thanks to my meds. I was in the A&S building where the heralds were set up and I finally got to meet the person I'd been trying to find for the last month to discuss something near and dear to my heart. I figured, I'd get a "I'm flattered, but no" response to something I'd asked, but I didn't. It went extremely well for most of the afternoon, and at the end of the conversation, she accepted my offer to become her apprentice. See, just after she got her Laurel for her weaving, I gathered up my courage and sent her an email.... asking if she would consider me as an apprentice. We're going to formalize things (complete with a green belt) at Pennsic, providing there's a baronial court (which I really hope there will be). I'm excited, this is another step in my journey and it's one that I've been working on for about 4 years now. It's by no means the last step in the journey, actually the trip is just beginning in earnest now. Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE! |
