Well, after having such a great time at Hirghland River Melees, I sent a note to Her Majesty thanking her for such an awesome time and I volunteered my services to help at Pennsic should she find herself in need. I didn't think she'd reply to my email much less take me up on the offer. I thought HRM was one of those once in a lifetime opportunities and once it was over, it was back to being just "rhiannon the invisible", well I wasn't exactly correct.
She wrote me back that she would love my help at Pennsic and that I should talk with Gorm before I agreed to be a Lady in Waiting. Knowing what he'd say (which would be an enthusiastic yes); I said as much and explained my heat and rare knee issues; figuring she shoudl know the up and down sides of life in this Rhiannon's world.
If she still wants me to, I'll be one of the Ladies in Waiting for Pennsic; but if she changes her mind, I'll understand. I'll be disappointed, but I *will* understand and be okay with her decision. She is right, it will be hard work at times, but I'm willing to put the effort into it.
Her basic instructions were to follow her Head Lady's or Dame Anne's lead. Two really big sets of shoes to follow (i'm reminded of a little kid trying to follow an adults footprints in the sand); but I'm willing to try my hardest.
We have 8 days til closing (it's at noon next friday); and I'm excited. So much is going well, I'm wondering when the shoe will drop.
