2002-05-14 - 12:21 p.m. - Well, it's great to see everyone... we were beginning to wonder if we were going to head back to the age before electricity permanently. Let me back up a bit.. last night we had a storm... not just a little run of the mill storm, nope. We had the joy of having one that was good enough to knock out a whole electrical substation... the one we happened to be hooked up to. And our water, is well water, that's connected to an electric pump... so when the electricity goes out, so does our water supply, so no clean clothes, no showers, nothing even remotely water-like happens. For 17 hours, we slept, talked, cuddled, talked a bit more, slept a while longer. Once the electricity came back on, we had a very slow, relaxing wake up this morning, and now we're both rested, reasonably well recharged and ready to go for another week and a half. We got good news that our centerpole and sleeve problem will be fixed on or around Sunday, so that's good. Thank God for Friends who understand what a true crisis is (camping in a pavilion without a center pole is a crisis of monumental proportions!) That was what I needed... some downtime. I definitely feel recharged. Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE! |
