Veteran's Day and an Etiquette Question

Recent Life Highlights
Well, I was going to write an ultra-personal entry on my diet, but I don't think you really want to hear about it, so I won't bore you with the details.
There isn't much going on, other than the event this weekend. My love's going to fight, and I'm going to watch him fight and enjoy the weather. Sounds deliciusly boring, doesn't it? :)
The other highlight of my life this week is trash pickup has come. Yeah yeah, I know you've heard it from WGRM and you can't see how anyone could be THAT excited about trash pickup, but trust me, haul your own trash to the landfill for 2 years and you'd be ecstatic too.
I think I'm going try my hand at making myself a cotehardie and an underdress. Is there anyone out there who knows anything about making a pattern for one? Making one of each will be my next personal project (after finishing our pavilion, making another 13' pavilion (hey Sorcha... is that copy in the mail yet?); and a day shade cover for the person who loaned us the sewing machine we couldn't get to work.
After this weekend, next weekend is an R&R weekend, then it's high gear from now til Pennsic to get everything together.
I'm going to enjoy the quiet time for the next two weekends while I have it, because it'll be gone all too soon.
