2002-04-11 - 10:27 a.m. BOING BOING BOING it's SPRING! Spring is here! Yep, i realize that's not a news bulletin, but I have to tell you, I'm excited about it this year, even with all the pollen, and chunky air floating around! Right now, on our coffee table in the living room are 72 plants just waiting for me to announce it's spring and introduce them into the ground. 36 of them are already trying to pry the roof off of the peat pot greenhouse in an effort to see if it's Spring yet. I've got pansies and Morning Glories in peat pots, just waiting for a chance to get put in the ground. It's so neat to see; yep, it's been years and years and years since I've grown anything myself, and this year, I have the intention of putting them in the ground at OUR home. We won't be buying it for a few months yet, but we're close enough now to know that unless something seriously wrong pops up, it's ours. I'll be planting seedlings at OUR house. The morning glories supposedly can grow to 8-10 feet, that's going to be awesome! Our house is a greenish color, with a wood deck on the front and back, and I'm looking to infuse some color into the front yard. I'm going to rip up some ugly bushes between the front concrete walkway and the deck and plant my morning glories and pansies there, but I need another something to put in between the short pansies and the tall Morning Glories. And it needs to have color... did I mention i want COLOR :) Feel free to email me or leave a guestbook message with plant/flower suggestions. Did I mention, I have somewhat of a greenish-brown thumb, so it has to be pretty hearty, and perennial would be cool too :) Thanks! (a Very Spring-minded Rhi) Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE! |
