2002-04-09 - 6:41 p.m. Life is GOOD! Well, the job is going great, there is little to no stress and for the first time in quite a few years, I look forward to going to work on Sunday nights. I'm able to sleep, not toss and turn worrying what's happened over the weekend and who's laying in wait for me to show up on Monday morning with something that's been screwed up or something that needs to be handled immediately. I love being a peon. I get to work at 8:30, I go to lunch at 12:00 and I leave for the day at 5:00; no one bothers me during my lunch to ask "a quick question" and no one expects me to come in early or stay late to take care of something that "can't wait." Yep, it's the easy way out, and I jumped at it. I don't make as much money as most people, but I make enough for us to afford the lifestyle we are accustomed to; and that's good enough for me. My life doesn't suck. Yep, I've got my share of new and interesting medical problems, and I'm learning how to work with them. But I do have to say, it was a LOT easier when the pharmacist didn't tell you every little side effect of every medication you take. Yeah, I know some people died and all, but there are some things that I want to be surprised about. But on the other hand, I've got a wonderful husband that really loves and cares about me (and he can cook too!), two cats (soon to be three, I believe) and a dog, all of which are cuddly and sweet and loveable; and it looks like we're going to be buying a house (providing the assessment works out to a number we like (we're hoping for $110,000). I've got a steady job and I enjoy my hobbies. Heck, I'm even dieting without much complaint. I've lost about 5 pounds (in the first week); and I hope there'll be more as the weeks progress. My goal is 32 pounds by 8/1. And for once, it feels achievable. I have some really caring friends and that's a bonus! Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE! |
