Veteran's Day and an Etiquette Question

2002-03-03 - 10:01 a.m.

A ho hum weekend :-)

Morning out there to everyone in diaryland!

Not much to talk about this morning, so I'll probably be shorter than usual (yes, I know you're all relieved).

There isn't really much going on this weekend, we're kinda staying inside where it's warm and dry (it's rather cold and rainy here in Dinwiddie).

We bought a filing cabinet for the heralds to replace the man-eating one they gave us. The new one is in place and we're waiting for some "big strappin' lads to help with the removal of the old one. It's amazing. I can get hurt doing the easiest of things (I got a cut on my finger--not bad and not deep, but it does sting); while helping him bring the new cabinet inside.

I found my watch... no not that one, the other one. I'd been looking in every nook, cranny and corner trying to find my mnon-analog watch. I couldn't find it anywhere and had given up hope. Yesterday morning, I was sitting on the bed waiting for my Love to get dressed, when he asked me to hand him his watch. I picked up the watch on the bedside table and looked at what I was handing to him... it was MY watch! I had put it in the desk drawer under the computer for safekeeping. He opened the drawer and thought it was his long lost missing watch. So, I have it back now safe and sound :-)

We went grocery shopping and each got haircuts. We both look like different people, although I look much cuter :)

We spent the evening last night running around in the make-believe world of Act II of Diablo. It's been a long time since we've played the game together (TCP/IP) and it was fun! We finally quit at like 11:30; and I was asleep by 11:35. Running around killing monsters and finding stuff is really really really hard work.

This afternoon, we're going to a friend's for her birthday.. Happy Birthday Eadan! It'll be good to see her and the rest of of our friends again. They're a great group of people! I hope she likes the presents we found for her. It's so hard to know what to get people. I always worry that they're not going to like we get them or that somehow I'm going to offend someone by my choice of gift. (pardon me, my insecurity is showing! :)

Tomorrow is Monday and it's back to the grind and the wait for a job offer. For it to be a "quick decision" it sure is taking a while!

Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE!

For Matt, come home safe and sound! We miss you!
