Veteran's Day and an Etiquette Question

2002-02-05 - 10:05 a.m.

a response to Sir Colin's "Minor League" answer

Dear Sir Colin:

Thank you so much for your answer and your help. I once had a guestbook, but it has disappeared, I'll have to see what I can do to resurrect it once again.

Yes, if Gorm won crown, I'm sure we would either be invited into a household or one would spring up around us and there it would be. However, as much as I love my Lord, and as much as I support him; I have no desire to be queen; He honors me with his love and support as it is and that is truly enough for me :-)

We have been told many things about households and becoming an apprentice, and all appear to be contradictory. You said you asked to join Corby's household, but we've been lead to believe that it would be considered "rude" and 'bad form' to ask to join a household; and you know what happened when one of us finally got frustrated enough to ask. At the time it happened, I was offended to say the least, and am still not all that overjoyed; but their answer was honest, and it was their wish, since it is their household, it is is completely understandable. People are more than welcome to have who they want and believe would be a good fit with them and theirs. It was a shock to me that a Lady wasn't welcome with her Lord. Although, I'll get over it.

In response to what you said about Dame Anne's article (I have not read it in its entirety, I am only commenting on your words); I agree, the success of a journey isn't in the outcome it's in the steps to achieve that outcome. I'm not interested in a formal household to make my journey over faster; quite the contrary, I'm intersted in a household to make my journey sweeter.

Thank you for seeing what I work so hard at. I'm not trying to sell ourselves cheap, I'm just trying to figure out what everyone else seems to be thinking when they look at us. I'm trying to look through the eyes of someone else and see what they see. Find the flaws and fix them so we don't feel quite so "minor league" and out of it.

Perhaps it's all in the attitude :-)

Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE!

For Matt, come home safe and sound! We miss you!
