Veteran's Day and an Etiquette Question

2004-04-28 - 6:50 a.m.

Tuesday didn't suck!

My yesterday didn't suck. I know that's a profound statement to make.. but it's true. It wasn't the best in the world of days, but it didn't suck, and that's saying something.

I'm in the process of waiting to see if my job will promote me out of the claims specialist I position into a billing position. Nope, I have no real experience with billing, but they said that wasn't necessary. If they do promote me, I'll be there another six months or so to learn the trade and then I'm outta there and onto better things. If they choose not to promote me, then well, I'll be out of there sooner than anticipated. Either way, a plan is in place and I'm not sitting on the fence anymore. That's a Martha Stewart "good thing" (tm).

Fighter practice last night was lots of fun.. We hadn't been in a while and it was good to see people and catch up on what's been going on. Gorm got a chance to be in armor, and that doesn't suck in the slightest... Gotta love a man in armor with all that testosterone just oozing out of their pores! I was able to conduct some business about Sapphire and my event, and that was good... I was able to just hang out and talk to people, and that felt better than GOOD!

The weaver's gathering at Sapphire is well into the planning stages and there WILL be one....It's tentatively scheddled for 2PM-4PM on SATURDAY in the A&S tents.. all with an interest in weaving are welcome (and encouraged) to come. I've been working some this week on getting the Weaver's Guild together, and it would be nice to have a small meeting during the gathering to see what everyone thinks. A friend gave me some pointers and information to look into as well as a list of people and email addresses she remembers being interested in weaving....if you're on that list.... don't be surprised when you get a "cold-call" email from [email protected]... that's me :-) Or.. you can save me the trouble and just use the link below to sign up on the atlantianweavers list! I *will* find you... there is no place you can hide... No where is safe...:-)

I also volunteered to help at troll at Sapphire on Friday night; and to chirurgeon at some point (although I'm not sure on that one); and I need to see about a small space to set up an Outgoing Artisan display...and see if competition for my replacement has been worked into the A&S competitions (that's like, part of my job.. I'm sure it has, because the two who are working on the A&S are incredible and nothing slips past them!).

I didn't sleep too well (I kept waking up) last night, but oh well.. htere's always tonight after grocery shopping.

This weekend is the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival (and Crown Tourney)... I've never been to the S&W Festival, but I've been told it's impressive! If there's anyone out there who's interested in car pooling or whatnot, let me know... this will be my first festival...I've got a friend in WV Sarna who's going, but it might be nice to have company for the drve up there... I think I'm day tripping, but if I don't have company I may just stay at her house. Gorm is staying home puppy sitting. We just can't afford to board the dogs and the gas and other expenses for a 12 hour round trip drive. We wanted to go to Crown to support our friends, but we just don't have the finances (it's about $100 to board our dogs for a weekend)...

I've heard that there's an impressive List this time... almost 40 fighters. Wow.. it's been a while since we've had a list that large (to my knowledge). I hope the fates choose our next monarchs well. If I don't post anything between now and then, I wish everyone in the list good clean fights, cool dry weather and lots of luck!

On a side note, though....(GO SUSIE!)

Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE!

For Matt, come home safe and sound! We miss you!
