The Abyss

Do you ever feel like you're standing the edge of an abyss? Not an abyss in the movies, where some ugly horrific monster is on his way up to grab you, but I the big gaping hole kind?

Today, that's where I see myself. Nothing's wrong, nothing's out of kilter, there is just a big unknown stretched out in front of me, and the rock ledge I'm on is crumbling around me, so I have to take a step into the unknown.

It's that "when you look into the abyss, the abyss looks into you" thingy.

Boy, that's scary. You can't go back, and the road ahead isn't all that comfy looking either, and staying where you are doesn't really do much good either. So what do you do???? I've been pondering on all of this for a while now, and I think I've finally got it worked out.

Well, here's what I'm going to do... I'm going to take a deep breath, open my eyes so I can see what's going on and take the big step into the dark abyss and see what's there. Friend or foe, I have to know, and I have this sneaking suspicion that regardless of what I find there, I'll be better for the journey.

Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE!

For Matt, come home safe and sound! We miss you!
