Veteran's Day and an Etiquette Question

2002-09-25 - 9:09 a.m.

On the way home.

Things are better today. My sister called last night and my aunt is going to a rehab center then to home.

She's really weak, because she hasn't eaten much and the morphine they've been giving her has pretty much robbed her strength, but she IS coming out of the hospital under wheelchair power, which is good! She won't be able to live alone anymore, which is sad, but she's 80 and has been independent for the better part of 20 years. She's either going to live with my cousin, or my cousin will move in with her.

Either way, she's coming home, so I can relax a bit now and just let life go back to normal. I didn't realize that I'd been holding my breath for the past few days, it feels good to breathe again.

Other than that bit of news, there's really nothing new to report. I haven't even tried to weigh myself during all of this, so I have no clue if I lost weight or what, I doubt it, though.

The diabetes medications seem to be working.. my morning blood sugar is down to somewhere between 88 and 108; which isn't bad, all things considered.

Please don't forget to answer my survey... it's research for a small business idea... all comments appreciated, no reasonable offer refused!!! It won't take five minutes, I PROMISE!

For Matt, come home safe and sound! We miss you!
