Veteran's Day and an Etiquette Question

Life is quiet....REALLY!
Still no news, and it's starting to take a toll on me. The stress is really getting to me (this among what feels like 56 other things).
My suitcase is packed, and I'm at work. I talked with my sister briefly, and my cousins don't want telephone calls to the hospital, so I feel like I should respect their wishes.
So I have nothing to do but sit and wait.
On another front, the split at our office has happened, and folks are a bit unhappy with the change in payroll processing. Instead of being paid to include what they SHOULD work, they're now being paid what they actually worked. The original firm paid people for a complete two weeks, the new firm will be paying up to like the Wednesday before payday.. they want those extra two days on their check.
We're still waiting to hear about the referral bonus that we're supposed to get for me working at the law firm for 60 months (my six month anniversary is tomorrow....wow...time flies...not!
Other than a busy couple of weeks coming up, (Gorm's going to look into possibly autocratting winter University in Feb if we can find a place). Life is quiet... yeah, right!
